The Nelson Male Voice Choir is riding the crest of a wave right now. Conducted by Andrea Hamilton, and accompanied by pianists Pauline Boyd and Susan Stokes, the Choir moves on from Anzac Day to a concert of popular music, by The Beatles, Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, plus show tunes, jazz standards and New Zealand songs. Guests will be the excellent Nelson College(Girls) Choir and Jazz Band. The modern ‘Annesbrook’, in Saxton Road, Stoke is the venue for this great afternoon of top-drawer music, on Sunday, June 14th, at 2.00pm. The show will be repeated at Memorial Hall, Motueka on Sunday, June 21st, 2.00pm.
The Choir has 45 current members, many having joined in the last two years, and continues to break new ground with its performances, sometimes featuring drums, bass, and other instruments. Last year it released a superb CD of male voice repertoire
New members are always welcome at the Reformed Church, Enner Glynn, every Monday at 6.45pm.
